How do I become an IFMA member?
Memberships are managed at the national IFMA office, not at the local Chapter level, but we are here to assist you every step of the way. To start, visit the other pages of this website, where you will find the benefits of membership, membership types, and membership application

Am I automatically affiliated with the Westchester / Hudson Valley Chapter if I become an IFMA member?
No, every new IFMA member must affiliate with a local Chapter their first year of membership. Dues are based on membership categories, and Chapter dues are additional. 

Can I be a member of multiple Chapters at once?
Yes! Simply contact IFMA national to add a local chapter to your membership.

How much does a Westchester / Hudson Valley Chapter membership cost?
It depends on your membership type, but IFMA’s basic membership is $209.00. The Westchester / Hudson Valley membership costs $92.00, making the basic membership investment $301.00. For additional fees you can also join different IFMA councils, as well as make donations to the IFMA Foundation. 

What type of member am I?

What is a council or community of practice?
IFMA formed councils to meet the industry-specific networking and information needs of its members. Truly global in nature, councils are not limited by geographic boundaries. You are able to communicate with colleagues worldwide about issues, concerns and best practices specific to your area of facility management. – See more here

A community of practice is more organized than a forum, but not as structured as a Council. The resources will be similar to Councils and only IFMA members in good standing can be a member of a COP.  COP’s are/were designed to be incubators for Councils.

Does my membership cover anyone from my company?
No, each membership is based upon an individual, not a company. Others from your company are welcome to attend events; however, they will pay the non-member cost to attend.

How much do your events typically cost?

Meeting Dues will be $25 for IFMA Westchester / Hudson Valley Members and $50 for Non Members.

Anyone who attends as a “guest” is required to pay the Non Member rate. Members of other IFMA Chapters are required to pay the Non Member Rate. Non Members are permitted to attend a total of two meetings before membership in IFMA (Hudson Valley) is mandatory.

Certain meetings may be special event meetings and will have their own pricing schedule. Our events calendar includes all event cost information.

How many and what type of events does the Westchester / Hudson Valley Chapter host each year?
The Westchester /Hudson Valley Chapter hosts various events including a monthly members-only networking breakfast, facility tours, educational programs, social get togethers and many more.

What if I’m not sure if the Westchester / Hudson Valley Chapter is right for me? Can I attend an event?
Yes! We welcome prospective members, and there is no better way for us to show the value of our Chapter than by allowing you to see it in person. If you would like to attend one of our Networking events or other programs, please contact us at info@ifma-hudsonvalley.com.

How can I get more involved?
IFMA Westchester / Hudson Valley is always looking for members to get more involved by volunteering on a committee. If you are interested in joining a committee, click here to view the description of each and complete the volunteer interest form.

What if I need to change my membership status or contact details?
Changes to contact information may be sent directly to the Components Team at IFMA by contacting components@ifma.org. Any changes made with the IFMA national team will come directly to the Chapter as well.

What if I am having trouble accessing the website?
Website credentials for IFMA.org are assigned by IFMA and can only be obtained by contacting the National Membership Department at ifma@ifma.org.
